Please remember students can not leave campus and come back. If your student is not registered for a certain day and you need them to be in the after school program it's totally fine for that week. SCHEDULE and New Class NEW CLASS ESY: Thursday 3:15-4:15pm Classes will start October 28, 2021 Join the Edible Schoolyard garden teachers for an after school garden class! Students will participate in a variety of garden tasks in four core areas: propagate, compost, cultivate, and harvest. Our after school session is an opportunity for students to further learn about the garden and develop basic skills in caring for the garden space. - We still have some classes that are open. If your student is interested in Yoga, Makerlab, or BEAM. Please let me know. Yoga: Monday 3:15-4:15pm Middle schoolers, let's breathe and stretch together to help us get through these challenging times! Way to Glow Kids Yoga classes incorporate practicing yoga poses, breathing exercises, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques. Benefits of yoga include reducing stress, supporting your health and immune system, and improving strength, flexibility, concentration, and balance. It's helpful to have a yoga mat but not necessary. All you need for this class is a space where you can stretch out your body and mind! MakerLab: Tuesday/Thursday 3:15-4:15pm Interested in hands-on design or making things with your hands? Join the King Afterschool MakerLab! Come design 3D models, edit videos, make cardboard buildings, record digital music, and more! BEAM: Tuesday 5-6pm/Friday 4-5pm BEAM fuses science education with mentorship by leading weekly hands-on science and engineering lessons. This semester our mentors are excited to share our new lessons covering topics like marine life dynamics, renewable energy, computer science, and more! Every week is something new, and we can't wait to spend time showing students what engineering and science are all about! SPORTS Weather is changing, so please dress accordingly! For games, each athlete is allowed no more than (2) spectators at games. Players, teams, and their spectators must exit the gym after the game. Please make sure all athletes are properly dressed and masked at all times during practice AND games. All spectators MUST be masked while attending games indoors or outdoors. Soccer Tryouts Our JV and Varsity Soccer tryouts will start the week of November 8th. Dates and times TBA. Girl Basketball Tryouts Tryouts for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls basketball will start the week of November 8th.
