King's Week Ahead - Week of March 2, 2026

Greetings King Families,

Thanks to all those who supported our students in their Black History Month and Oratorical Festival pieces and performances. We are incredibly proud of all our students, especially those who courageously performed at the Oratorical Festival on Tuesday. Our 6th and 7th Graders especially showed out!

As of today, we officially enter March! This month, we are focusing on strong attendance, regrounding our commitment to being present at school as a foundational need for learning and well-being to happen. All BUSD schools will participate in an attendance March Madness competition–help us top the leaderboard by supporting our students in getting to school on time every day!

Here’s what to expect this week:

• On Monday, March 2, students who need to complete the Vision Screening will be sent passes to finish testing.

• On Tuesday, March 3, students in 7th Grade AVID and students in AVID Excel will have a field trip to CSU East Bay.

This month, we also will have our annual Run-a-Thon event held on March 25th! This event is our final, big fundraising event conducted in partnership with PTA. Join us in promoting activity and participation this year amongst our students! Information and packets for pledges will be forthcoming.
