Greetings King Families,
We hope you enjoy the long weekend with your loved ones. There will be no school on Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day, and classes will resume on Tuesday, May 26.
Here’s what to expect this week:
On Tuesday, May 26, 6th Grade AAPI will be taking a field trip, and will be back at school by 12:30 PM.
On Wednesday, Advanced Drama will hold a performance in the Auditorium at 6:00 PM.
On Friday, the 8th Grade Dance will take place in the Gym from 7:00 - 9:30 PM. Permission slips will be going out this week, and will need to be signed and returned for students to attend. Non-King guests will not be allowed. 7th Grade families, the PTA could use your help as a chaperone (click to sign up)! 8th Grade families, your support is needed to help set up the dance (click to sign up)!
Looking ahead to the remainder of the year, here are events to anticipate in the last week of school (i.e., first week of June):
8th Graders will have their Six Flags class field trip on Monday, June 1.
7th Grade will have Field Day on that Monday–plan on supporting your student with ensuring they bring clothing appropriate for physical activity and come with water bottles!
On Wednesday, June 3 and Thursday, June 4, King will have a 12:15 PM dismissal. Grab-and-go lunches will be available for students at the Dining Commons.
On Wednesday, June 3, 8th Grade will have Promotion at 4:00 PM at the King Track and Field (behind school, near Hopkins). 8th Graders will be practicing during the week, so it is important that students continue to exercise strong attendance and be on time to classes. Please review key communications from Ms. Mould and the 8th Grade team regarding forms for Promotion tickets and accommodations.
Thanks and have a wonderful week ahead!
With love,
Michael Tison Yee
