Greetings King Families,

Believe it or not, we are now in the last week of school! Thanks for all your support during this school year–we have loved every minute with your students!

Here’s what to expect this week:

  • On Monday, 8th Graders will be attending Six Flags for their final, end-of-year celebration trip. If your student lost their permission slip, a parent or guardian can come in to sign one in the Main Office first thing in the morning. Students will be departing by 10:00 AM.

  • Monday, 7th Grade will have their Field Day from Periods 4-6. As this is the warmest part of the day, be sure students are appropriately layered and dressed for physical activity and that they bring water bottles.

  • On Tuesday, June 2, 6th Graders will participate in the annual Greek Olympics event. As this event begins in the morning, students should come layered for cooler weather and be prepared for warmer weather after lunch.

  • On Wednesday, June 3, there will be a 12:15 PM dismissal. Students may grab lunch to-go from the Dining Commons on their way off campus or to LEARNS.

  • Promotion for 8th Graders will be this Wednesday at 4:00 PM on the King Track and Field, behind the school. 8th Grade families should continue to keep an eye out for final messaging from VP Jess Mould about the event. Please keep in mind that attendance this week for 8th Graders is especially crucial as we do not want students to miss Promotion Practice.

  • Thursday, June 4 is the last day of school! There will be a 12:15 PM dismissal as well, with lunch to-go during dismissal.

As we look toward next year, the PTA is still looking for some key positions. The PTA has played a crucial role in supporting our teachers and students, and we could use your help to ensure that programming stays intact and at the highest level possible! If you are interested or know anyone who could be great at the following roles, please reach out to myself (michaeltisonyee@berkeley.net)! Thanks!

  • Treasurer

  • VP of Parent Outreach & Volunteers

  • Welcome Fair Co-Lead (one of last year's co-leads will do again)

  • Fall Festival & Spring Jam (King staff very involved)

  • ESY Fundraising

  • Webmaster

Thanks and have a wonderful week ahead!

With love,

Michael Tison Yee
