Greetings King Families,
We hope you had a restorative and restful Winter Recess! Classes resume tomorrow, January 5, with typical bell schedules throughout the week. Please be sure to check in with your student about the new semester–for many, classes will shift in small but significant ways. For example, some classes are only one semester long, or your student may have an intervention class placement. Additionally, in 6th Grade, all students change their wheel and PE teachers every quarter. If there is any uncertainty about placement, vice principals and counselors will be ready to assist Monday morning, and students can find them as they arrive to school.
Here’s what to expect this week:
Semester 1 grades for teachers are due this week. Please be sure to check the Infinite Campus online portal at the end of the week to review grades with your student(s).
On Friday, January 9, our amazing students in Dance will be performing in the 2nd Annual Winter Dance Showcase at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium. See you there!
On Saturday, January 10, the Edible Schoolyard will be hosting a garden work party from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Though we still have a good amount of time in this school year, we are also in the process of preparation for the next! For current 6th and 7th grade families, information will be sent out about electives for 26-27 by the end of the week. Additionally, families of current 8th graders had information from VP Jess Mould sent prior to break regarding BHS and 9th grade courses. Selection will be happening through Science classes during the week of January 12. Information for all grade levels will be sent separately this week.
Thanks and have a wonderful week ahead!
With love,
Michael Tison Yee
