King's Week Ahead - Week of August 24, 2026

Happy Sunday King Families,

As we completed a first, full week of school, we could tell that our students have already demonstrated some important growth over the Summer holiday. Our 6th Graders have done an amazing job learning their schedules, and our 7th and 8th Graders are showing important signs of maturity as they move a step closer to high school and beyond. All that is to say, that we know this will be an incredible year, and we are looking forward to your partnership as we look ahead.

This week, there are no significant events occurring on campus, but we have some other information that will be helpful for the week:

• An incorrect link was discovered for the MakerSpace/STEM afterschool program permission and interest form. This is the corrected link.

• Opportunities for parent and guardian leadership are coming soon! Now that we have launched the year, various committees, like the School Site Council (SSC) and our English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) will have opportunities to be involved to guide and advise decisions made around the school. You can learn more about our committees, taking a moment to review them here, with descriptions. Nominations are now open, and you may nominate yourself using this form.

• Before you know it, we will have Back to School Night on Thursday, September 3, happening on campus, with a PTA dinner fundraiser starting at 5:30 PM, and Period 0 and Period 7 classes presenting at 6:00 PM. The whole school welcome will begin at 6:15 PM in the Auditorium, prior to an opportunity to simulate student schedules.
