King's Week Ahead - Week of August 17, 2026

Happy Sunday King Families,

Thanks for a great first week! The energy of our students back in the building was such a delight, making every minute of preparation feel worthwhile. Now, we head into our first full week of school.

Here’s what to expect:

• 6th Grade Orientation will come to a conclusion on Monday, August 17. Students will report one final time to their starting color groups (below) at 8:35 AM, and teachers will get them their schedules after breakfast.By the end of the day, students will have experienced a full day attending their classes of record. By Monday, class schedules should be updated and accurate on Infinite Campus.

• For Zero Period Classes, any classes with sectionals should begin this week. Please connect with your student’s music teacher for specific class schedules. All inquiries may also be directed to the district administrator overseeing VAPA, Lauren Combs (laurencombs@berkeley.net).

• Afterschool MakerSpace is coming back, starting Monday, August 17! MakerSpace will be open on Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:05 to 4:20pm. Other days and other activities will be announced soon. This opportunity is not exclusive to LEARNS enrollment.
