Greetings King Families,
This week is a short one, with a professional learning day for staff on Monday and some exciting information for 8th graders through the rest of the week!
Here’s what to expect this week:
Monday, October 6, there is no school for students as staff will have a professional development day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 7.
8th Graders and families will have two opportunities to learn about the end-of-year Builder’s Experience trip! The first will be on Thursday, October 9, from 7:00 - 8:00 PM in the Auditorium. The second informational meeting will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 11.
Friday, October 10, is the 6th Grade Field Trip to Codornices Park.
Friday is also the end of the quarter, with grades due the week after for teachers. For those new to King, our school uses Quarter 1 grades to give an indicator for student progress, with Quarter 2 a continuation of that progress. A true final grade (for report cards) is given at the end of the Semester (Quarter 2 end).
Looking ahead, please be aware that on Monday, October 13, there will be no school as we observe Indigenous Peoples Day.
Thanks and have a great week ahead!
With love,
Michael Tison Yee
