King's Week Ahead - Week of September 14, 2026

Happy Sunday King Families,

Thanks to all those who supported our School Site Council with their nominations! Elections will open this week–we look forward to working with our future SSC members soon!

Here’s what to expect this week:

• Quarter 1 Progress Report grades should be updated this week by teachers in Infinite Campus. By the end of the week, review grades with students and have conversations about their progress with them. This cycle, the Habits of Work (HOW) grade will be updated. This grade reflects participation, completion of assignments, and general citizenship within each classroom. Please refer to your teachers’ welcome letters or syllabus for more information about HOW grading in their classes.

• On Tuesday, September 15, the second 6th Grade Welcome Dinner will be happening from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the Dining Commons. Please refer to Vice Principal Mould’s messaging about which core teacher groups are invited, as well as potluck and event needs.

As an additional opportunity, Berkeley Middle School LEGO ROBOTICS TEAMS will be starting up our 3rd year soon! We will be signing up student participants sometime in October. Right now, we are looking for parent/family volunteers to assist the lead teachers at King with the team sessions that will happen once a week after school for 1.5 hours (days TBD soon), along with a district competition event in the spring. Volunteers will serve as mentors/coaches to the student participants. You don't have to be an expert at robotics to help out, but experience with coding and Lego building is very useful.
