The Week Ahead - Week of August 25, 2025

Updated: 14 minutes ago

After a full week of school, systems and routines are going to start setting into place for students. As they reach a rhythm with the pace of school, help support them by making sure they maintain strong habits around attendance and getting to first classes on time. Every single minute makes a difference, especially when arriving late can make someone feel behind the instant they step into the classroom.

While there are no special events this week, we want to keep your eye on a few items:

  • Opportunities for parent and guardian leadership are coming soon! Now that we have launched the year, various committees, like School Site Council (SSC) and our English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) will have opportunities to be involved to guide and advise decisions made around the school. While separate messaging will come out about how to nominate or self-nominate for these committees, take a moment to preview them here, with descriptions.

  • For those who have asked about participating and helping out at school events, one of our counselors, Ms. Gregor, is coordinating parent/guardian efforts through grade level WhatsApp channels. Signing up is completely voluntary, and will keep you connected with opportunities at each grade level!

  • Before you know it, Back to School Night will be here! This year, the event is in the evening of Thursday, September 4. Mark your calendars, and look out for more information at the end of this week!

Thanks and have a great week ahead!

With love,

Michael Tison Yee
