Happy Monday King Families,
We hope that the long weekend has been a good one for you! This week is a short week with Back to School Night on Thursday.
Here’s what the week will look like:
School and classes will resume on Tuesday, September 2, with typical bell schedules for the rest of the week.
On Thursday, September 4, Back to School Night will be happening on campus, with a PTA dinner fundraiser starting at 5:30 PM, and Period 0 and Period 7 classes presenting at 6:00 PM. The whole school welcome will begin at 6:15 PM in the Auditorium, prior to an opportunity to simulate student schedules.
To support Back to School Night efforts, students will be receiving this worksheet in Advisory on Tuesday, to complete and bring home to you. In the event that your student misplaces it, you are welcome to print one out and complete it as a family.
Every year, we get asked, “Should I bring my student(s)?” We see no problem with students accompanying their parents and guardians–they can often help guide folks from room-to-room. However, we do ask that no students or children are left unattended if they are on campus.
Finally, we are seeking parent and guardian members for this year’s School Site Council (SSC) and representatives for the district Planning & Oversight (P&O) Committee. Please take a moment to see the description of our various committees here. Then, you may nominate yourself using this form.
Thanks and have a great week ahead!
With love,
Michael Tison Yee
