Return to Campus

Spring 2021, parents must complete health screening for students each day they are on campus:

(See Hybrid Learning Bell Schedule)

Before Coming to Campus

  • Fill out this health screener each day before your student  comes to campus. Click on this link to get to the Health screener and bookmark it on your phone or computer. You will need to fill this out before coming to campus each day!
  • Please DO NOT send your student TO CAMPUS IF they are SICK, have been sick in the 72 hours prior to coming to school, or have been in direct contact with someone who has COVID-19.
  • Watch the student health training videos that have been emailed to your students from Safe Schools.  Every student has an account.

Things to Bring

  • Properly fitted mask. One will be provided for your student at the entrance if they don’t have one. Please no masks with valves or bandanas.
  • Hat/sun/jacket protection in case the class is meeting outside.
  • Water bottle. The drinking fountains are closed due to COVID safety regulations.
  • Please leave your  Chromebook/ Laptop or tablet at home. Cell phones must be powered down and out of sight.

While on Campus

Students will be required to:

  • Keep a distance of  6ft from all other students and staff
  • Keep a mask on so that it covers the mouth and nose at all times
  • Respect new school guidelines in place for everyone’s safety.

Every school had to create a reopening plan to get approval from the Health Dept to reopen safely. Here is the MLK REOPENING PLAN. And here is a link to the BUSD HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES

Volunteers Each day we will be checking all students as they enter the campus to be sure they have completed the health screener and are safe to enter the campus. We want to get the 350+ students per day to their classes as soon as possible. Please sign up here if you are available to help.

Contacting the School

Our school’s administrative assistant is Tania Hernandez and her direct line is 644-4544. Questions about your student’s schedule should be directed to your grade level VP:

Student COVID Testing

Beginning the week of April 19, BUSD will begin offering free Covid-19 testing at all BUSD middle school and high school campuses every other week for any students that would like to participate. We are encouraging all families to take part to help keep our students, staff, and teachers as safe as possible.

BUSD has partnered with PMH Laboratory Inc. to perform the testing. The District will have nurses on hand, in addition to the nurses provided by the testing agency, to collect samples with the mouth swab test.

Important Student Testing Information

  • Student testing is optional. Only complete the forms sent home if you are interested in having your student tested every two weeks.
  • Please make sure all information is completed for each form in order to receive your results and process the test accurately.
  • Please send forms with your student on their testing day.
  • Results can be expected 48 to 72 hours post-test date and will be sent to the email provided by the student’s parent/guardian.
  • If your student has a positive test, BUSD district nurses will reach out with next steps for your student immediately.

Please see the BUSD website for the following information:

  • Testing dates and times per school campus
  • One time registration link online with PMH and directions on how to fill out this link
  • Explanation of each form that is needed
  • PDF attachments of each form if you prefer to print at home and send with your student
