King Families,

I have extended the deadline to allow more  participants to enter the contest.  Please encourage your student to take a few moments to reflect on the work of Dr. King and consider writing a poem or essay or creating an original work of art.  We will accept entries up until the Friday, Jan 11.

 “Taking a Stand”

 ART, POETRY, AND ESSAY CONTEST

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?

Students may submit an essay, a poem, or an art project that is related to “Taking a Stand.”   Think about the work of Dr. King and what it means to take a stand by speaking up or working for an important issue or cause. All entries are due by 1st period on Friday, Jan. 11. No late entries will be accepted.

WHAT ARE THE PROJECT REQUIREMENTS?

Art projects must be no larger than 24×30″. Essays and poems should be typed, and you may use the computers in the library or learning centers to type your entries. All essays and poems should be 1–3 pages long.

WHERE DO YOU TURN IN YOUR PROJECTS?

You may turn them in to the office or to any of your teachers.
