Volunteer

We still need plenty of VOLUNTEERS to help make this an amazing and memorable event for our kids.

Bite-sized tasks have been organized to encourage parents from all grades to help pull this off.  We need a minimum of 40 people (20 for tasks, 20 for set-up and clean-up) to volunteer as soon as possible to make this happen.  Please click on the SignUp Genius and help get this party off the ground.

Chaperone

Since the 8th grade kids don’t want their parents at their dance, King tradition is that 6th and 7th grade parents perform the task.  Then, when 8th grade comes for these younger students, the next generation of parents takes it on. This is a great opportunity to see how your child will be celebrating in a year or two!

If you are able to help chaperone the dance we need folks *who do not have* an 8th grader to help out on the evening of the dance for a 2-hour shift – either 6:30-8:30 pm or 8:15-10:15 pm. in the King Gym.

Donate Food Items

If you are able to donate food or drinks please let the PTA know

We need parents of any grade student to donate the following:

  • Dessert items, finger foods only (please, no knives, forks, or spoons needed to consume or serve). Suggestions: cookies, brownies, cupcakes, rice krispie treats.  Homemade or store-bought desserts are welcome!  Bite-size portions are appreciated (more to go around, less to clean up).  You can drop off your sweet contribution at the kitchen the day before the dance between 3:00-7:00.
  • Cut Vegetables (on a tray or in a bowl, already prepped and ready to go)
3) The Decorations Committee needs volunteers to join shifts at the Gym the days before the dance.  Decoration Team will decorate the gym for the dance!
Many, many thanks to those who are already pitching in to make this event special for our outgoing 8th grade class, and to those who will sign up for the above volunteer shifts. We could not be throwing this amazing party without each of you!

If you have any further questions about the dance, please email the PTA!
