Parent Education

Upcoming Parent Education topics:
………………………………… ……………..

The King, Longfellow, and Willard PTAs are co-sponsoring the next parent education presentation on ‘Marijuana and the Adolescent Brain.’ Please join us in the auditorium on Wednesday, November 1st at 7:00pm. The presentation will cover:

  • What message do we want to give our teens about marijuana?
  • How do we hold intelligent/ useful conversations about weed with our children?
  • What does the latest research say, without the hype?

This is a forum for parents, guardians, school personnel, and other community members to allow for an uncharged informative discussion about marijuana and our youth. It is time to move past the ‘war on drugs’ from both sides to give room for a more unbiased and responsible voice as to how we want to address marijuana when it comes to our youth.

Our speaker, Ralph Cantor, has been in public education for over 40 years as a teacher, counselor and administrator. With a non-judgmental, science-based, high school teacher approach, he will talk about marijuana and the adolescent brain and facilitate an open forum to discuss people’s concerns, views, thoughts and opinions about marijuana use by teens in our community.

The presentation is open to all parents and guardians of middle school students in the Berkeley Unified School District. Please help us spread the word.

Spanish translation will be provided.
Tickets are free. Reserve your space here.
