Room Parent Meeting
6:00–7:00 p.m.
Room Parent Leaders Amber Evans and Tanja Schlosser (7th grade parents) will fill you in on all you need to know!
This will be a special meeting for 6th grade ROOM PARENTS to talk about exciting upcoming 6th grade special events. This will be our second annual hosting of 6th grade Welcome Dinners, a wonderful series of get-togethers, held two classes at a time in our stunning lunchroom. Meet other parents and students, your student’s main teachers, counselor, (who will stay with their class through the entire three years at King) Vice Principal (ditto), and Principal Levenson in a friendly, low-key social setting. If you attended last year, you know it was fantastic! If you are the parent of an incoming 6th grader and you haven’t yet signed on to be a room parent, please consider doing this community-building, low intensity volunteer job. General Meeting
7:00–8:30 p.m.
We will be conducting important PTA business. If you can only come to one PTA meeting this year, this is the one to attend. It is time to vote on our proposed budget; PTA leadership, working closely with Principal Levenson, has crafted an exciting roster of community-building programs for the coming year. Among the key programs/budget items for this year are a Student Activities Director, an intern at the Edible Schoolyard, technology support for the school, as well as welcome dinners for the 6th grade, a big Community Party in October—too many items both large and small to list here! The PTA is ALL of us working together; together we raise the money, together we decide how best to spend it.
