As you know, both the state and our school district are facing extreme budget shortfalls. Funding for King programs previously paid for by BSEP (Berkeley Schools Excellence Project) and other sources has been diverted to help cover those gaps. As a result, the PTA has been asked to help fund several very important items for the 2007-08 school year, including:

• athletic programs
• music programs
• field trips
• library support
• tutoring services.
